The subject I return to again and again is houses and houses in landscape, particularly my demolished childhood home, Gilgarran, and the houses in the Cot Valley near St Just, where immaculate cottages co-exist with ruins, and it’s impossible not to see a palimpsest of past habitation shading through the present.
I’m also experimenting with abstraction; here too, houses are often a starting point, but so too are life events for which I don’t have the words.
